Join in these special small group experiences facilitated by Dr. Rhea Komarek, D.C., RSME/T. Inspired by the transitional phase of Peri/Menopause, this workshop is open to anyone moving through a time of transition seeking a supportive container with which to orient to the phase of life they find themselves in.
Over six weekly small group sessions, you'll explore movement, drawing, and creative writing as tools for self-discovery in the company of others traveling a similar phase of change. If you are brand new to these modalities- you will not be alone! Most participants arrive with little to zero experience in somatic movement & expressive arts.
You'll map out what you're currently experiencing at this transitional phase in life, while also identifying what you feel you need.

You'll do this through the lens of Polyvagal Theory, identifying how you feel, think and act when in your three primary nervous system states: regulated, fight/flight, and collapse. These are present in everyone, however, during times of disorientation and change these shifts can become even more pronounced, making it harder to connect to productive self-reflection. This is where befriending of these parts of the self come in.

Each state creates its own sensations, emotions, and feelings about your life. I will guide you to develop these into characters that get into dialogue together around your current life circumstances. This becomes a way to work with your present life circumstances while gaining the ability to listen to yourself in a very holistic way. New perspectives can open up as all parts of the self are heard.

For example, let's say you are moving through a career transition and health issues while navigating perimenopause.
Example of Characters You May Meet:

Serendipity (Regulated)
Miss Fixalot (Fight/Flight)
Cave Woman (Collapse)
By listening to these parts, you can find a holistic answer to the core questions:
Where am I?
and
What do I need?

Awaken Creativity

Land in a Supportive Space with Others who Get It

Connect to What is Important to You Now
